I’ve never been an NBA fan. While I love watching college basketball (and take my phone off the hook during the Big Dance), the NBA’s failure to keep creeps like Latrelle Sprewell out of its ranks (IMHO, choking one’s coach should result in an immediate lifetime ban from the game) have made me ignore the sport.
So I’m not exactly crying over the trouble the NBA is in nowadays.
It all stems from an FBI probe over referee Tim Donaghy. Notice it was the Feds, not the NBA, that caught him.
Donaghy stands accused of fixing games with his whistle.
Pete Rose has been banned for life for betting on baseball games while managing. Side note: it’s too bad baseball never did anything about admitted steroid user Barry Bonds. But I digress. MLB has decided that the very integrity of the game was jeopardized by its all-time hits leader, so he remains an outcast.
What is the world will the NBA do to recover the highly questionable status of its games being fairly played?
You see, Donaghy claims he’s not alone in what he did.
